*BE ENTERTAINED. BE INSPIRED.*

If a female student got drunk and had her car stolen the university would call the police. If she got drunk and had her computer stolen, they would call the police. If she got drunk and had her phone stolen, they would call the police. The fact that she was drunk would not even be factored in when assessing if a crime had been committed. But if she gets drunk and has her body invaded and her humanity stolen, school administrations are perplexed about what to do.

Charlie Chaplin in The Great Dictator (1940)

If you haven’t seen the movie, please watch this speech. It’s from 1940 but it applies even moreso in 2014.

People look at you and say ‘you changed’, as if you worked that hard to stay the same.

dierwolf:

2014 was one of those years that started out like “THIS IS GOING TO BE GREAT!!!” and its halfway through and we have a war going on, a deadly disease has been spread, countless shootings have happened, racism is alive, more people have been leaving living things inside of hot cars, and robin williams is fucking dead

There’s so much more to life than what you’re feeling now.
Just tried a recipe for zucchini patties I found online. They actually turned out really well :-) A good go-to recipe if I have guests over

I hate that like 30 minute period before going out where you’re stuck in activity limbo and don’t know what to do because you’re leaving soon

Someone plz correct me if I’m wrong. But did Obama take time out of vacay to comment on RW dying but not to say anything about Mike Brown?
Plz tell me I’m wrong…

that’s what im saying.

Who is mike brown?

The unarmed teen shot by a cop in MO this past weekend

Yup this definitely happened. But are yall really surprised?

As time goes on I’m just done with POTUS. What’s the point in supporting him…on to Hillary 2k16

President Obama spoke about Trayvon Martin.
He will speak about Michael Brown in due time.
Gat damn.

Y’all need to stay away from politics. Bruh, Obama obviously can’t just come out and just make a statement about the Mike Brown situation immediately for multiple reasons.
1. It’s being investigated and all of the facts have not been made public.
2. He may be black, but his presidency supersedes his race. He can’t speak on it as a *black* president. He has to speak on it as a president. His agenda is not supposed to be a *black* agenda it is an *American* agenda.
Instead of waiting for obama to say/do something, Do something yourself, sign the petition, rally in your neighborhood, get organized and march, stop waiting around looking to the white house for confirmation that an injustice should be acted upon.

^^^^

I am reblogging this because I think ppl need to read the response someone wrote about WHY President Obama has not YET commented on Mike Brown. Plus Robin Williams has been well known for years and has had direct and indirect effect on people’s lives. The Ferguson situation is VERY important but I understand why the timely comment on Robin.
